Why Heritage Spotters
Our people work to construction programs, not around them. Every monitored hour, survey transect and find is logged in the field so the evidence is ready when you need it.
We work alongside Traditional Owners and follow their direction on cultural matters. You deal with one team from scoping through to close-out reporting, with itemised quotes and no surprises on the invoice.

Frequently asked questions
What is the cultural heritage duty of care?
In Queensland, anyone carrying out an activity must take all reasonable and practicable measures to ensure it does not harm Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage. Other states have similar obligations. On a project that usually means due diligence, surveys, monitoring and records that show it was done.
What kinds of heritage do you cover?
All of them. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural heritage, historical archaeology, built heritage such as homesteads and bridges, natural heritage places and landscapes, and maritime heritage such as shipwrecks and jetties.
Do you cover projects outside Queensland?
Yes. We support projects across Australia, including remote resources and renewables sites, and work within each state's heritage laws.
Do you speak for Traditional Owners?
No. Cultural knowledge and decisions belong to the Traditional Owners for the area. We work alongside their representatives, coordinate the field program and keep the records.
Do you prepare cultural heritage management plans?
Yes. We help prepare plans, agreements and finds procedures and can deliver the field program that sits under them.
